How customers can filter your public menu by allergens and dietary preferences.
Menu Filtering for Customers
Your public menu includes powerful filtering options that help customers find suitable items based on their dietary requirements and allergen needs.
How Filtering Works
When customers access your menu via QR code or link, they can:
- Tap the filter icon at the top of the menu
- Select their dietary preferences or allergens to avoid
- The menu instantly updates to show only matching items
Filtering helps customers with allergies or dietary restrictions quickly find safe options without reading through every item.

Benefits for Your Business
Improved Customer Safety
Customers with allergies can confidently identify safe options, reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
Better Customer Experience
Filters save time—customers find suitable items faster instead of reading every description.
Increased Trust
Providing detailed allergen information and easy filtering demonstrates care for customer wellbeing.
Reduced Staff Queries
When customers can self-serve allergen information, staff spend less time answering repetitive questions.
Maximising Filter Effectiveness
Keep Allergen Data Accurate
Filters only work when your allergen data is correct:
- Review items regularly
- Update when recipes change
- Include "May Contain" warnings
Apply Dietary Labels
Don't forget to mark items as vegetarian or vegan:
- More filtering options for customers
- Attracts health-conscious diners
Train Staff
Ensure staff understand:
- How to help customers use filters
- What the filters show and don't show
- When to provide additional guidance
Important Notes
"May Contain" Information
Allergen filters hide items that contain the allergen. "May Contain" warnings are still displayed on items that pass the filter—customers should check these warnings.
Not a Substitute for Communication
While filters help customers find suitable items, they should always:
- Inform staff of severe allergies
- Ask about preparation methods
- Confirm ingredients with the kitchen for critical allergies
